My wonderful boyfriend and I are headed to Disneyland this May and it will be our first time flying over. We usually drive over because there is always family and friends coming along but this time it is just us so we decided to fly! :D

For some reason it is cheaper to fly into LAX than SNA but LAX is much further away. So would it be worth it to fly into LAX if we still had to find some sort of transportation to our hotel?

For those of you who have used airport transports and shuttles which ones are the best and most cost effective? Are there deals and such that I am just missing? And are the accommodating with non-business hour times?

Thank you guys so much, in advance, for making this trip one of the best, if not the best, ones ever! :D

Check the DLRE schedule to w/your arrival time there are times when the bus only goes on the hour and if you are off site there is a bus transfer to make into your time too! At least that is what I was told when I called them since we are at the BWPPI our 8:30am arrival at the airport could be as late as noon arrival at the hotel :faint: at least that is what the folks on the phone said. I am leaning towards the super shuttle for our June trip any thoughts on them?

I'v used Supershuttle and found it to be acceptable. Yes, you often stop at other hotesl to drop off other people, but they do drop you right at your hotel, not at some bus stop on the street. They also pick you up at the airport when you're ready to go, not every hour or every half hour like Disney Express. I think the round trip costs are comprable.

We used to use SuperShuttle all the time, but the drivers we have had were insane. So many times they were yelling at other drivers and almost hitting other shuttles/buses. So, we switched to Disneyland Resort Express. Both drop off at other hotels. Supershuttle will circle the airport looking to filling the van before heading to the resort area. Disneyland Resort Express does not do that, but stops at the DL hotels first, then moves to the other hotels and stopping at the bus stops, not at the hotels. So, depending on what hotel you stay at this might be an issue for you.
On the way back, I have had Supershuttle drivers say they were outside to pick me up and not actually be there (I had to call a cab to make it to my flight).
With DLRE, they pick you up at the bus stop, then head back to DLH. If you are going to SNA, you may have to transfer to a different bus, but LAX usually does not. Then you head to your airport.

SNA is more expensive to fly in because it is smaller and nicer. We prefer it and usually chose it if we can afford the difference. We are usually at our hotel from SNA using the DLRE in an hour (we usually stay at Tropicana).

Yes, I prefer DLRE over Supershuttle. :rotfl2:I like the professionalism and the comfort of the bus over the uncertainty of Supershuttle.

(And thank you to the PP about the $12 ticket:thanks:).

I wouldn't use Supershuttle again after my last experience. I feared for our lives at times. The driver on the way to the airport was especially sullen, playing his own loud music and barely listening to our requests to change it.

I'm flying into SNA this time ( hurray! ) because I found a deal that was scarcely more expensive than LAX but I'm not sure if I should get a cab or buy Express tickets.

I just got back from Disneyland last week and we flew in and out of LAX because of cost and time. The shuttle we used was Karmel and I was really pleased with it. The shuttle will only stop at one other hotel, it was about $43 each way. The drivers were courteous and drove safely.

I am now super confused. I thought DLRE stopped at other hotels after the DL hotels. Do they not do this? Where are the bus stops you are talking about? We are going from SNA to/from Carousel Inn if that makes a difference. Thanks!

DLRE will stop at the DLH first when arriving and last when departing, using that as a transfer point if you need to switch buses.

At the offsite hotels it uses the, OCTA, public bus pull outs in most cases. For the Carousel Inn this would be about 75 feet to the south down Harbor.

Sorry I confused you. Skiingfast is correct.
The bus stop will be between Tropicana and Best Western for Carousel Inn..which is right next to Tropicana.

Okay so if we decided to use the DLRE where would it drop us off if we are staying at the castle inn and suites? Also if this location is not in front of the hotel we would have to go to the drop off area to be picked up?
Would it be cheaper and more time wise to use a cab?

Also this is wayyyy of topic(: but do hotels have like "locked" rooms or lockers of some sort to put you luggage in, in case the room is not ready when it needs to be or if you are early?

It may be about 150 feet south on Harbor near the corner with Katella. Or may be 150 feet north in the Anaheim Plaza parking lot.

Most locations will hold you luggage behind the front desk, if the Castle Inn has a locked room to keep it in, I don't know.

We r flying this time 2, we decided to fly JetBlue into Long beach still close and cheaper, I think we r also doing super shuttle, we have done super shuttle b4, and it was alllll right, the guy didn't know how to use his gas card so we were stuck at the station a time while he was trying to get a hold of his manager..... kinda annoying BUT he was really sorry and sometimes things happen....we will see how this time goes LOL It was the cheapest though

Most hotels will hold your stuff in a locked or back room, so you can go to the park or eat while you wait for your room. I think most will let you into the pool area even
