Transportation from WL to Beaches & Cream - need help!

We are flying in on Thursday, Dec 11th and staying at WL - we want to have our traditional first night dinner at Beaches & Cream and am not sure how to maneuver the transportation back and forth. We will leave WL anywhere between 8:00 and 9:00 pm, depending on the flight and transportation to the resort. Does it make sense to take the boat to MK and then the bus to Yacht/Beach Club? (Normally, I would go to MGM and take the boat, but I don't think the bus would be running that late). How long would that take on a MVMCP night? And how about the return trip - how long could we shop on Boardwalk and be able to get back to WL without going to Downtown Disney or getting stranded anywhere?

Thanks for any assistance.

You're on the right track. Both the Studios and MK are good transfer points. As for how long it will take, that depends on how you make the connections. (whether you just missed the boat/bus or if you caught it as it was coming in)

The actual journies themselves should not take anymore than 15 minutes per leg.

I believe the Studios close at 7:00 p.m. on 12/11. Therefore, I don't think it would make a good transfer point for either the trip to Beaches 'n Cream or the trip back to the WL. (OP said they planned to start out for B 'n C between 8 pm and 9 pm). 12/11 is a MVMCP, so the MK could work as a hub for the trip there. Don't think it would work all that well for the return, though. Even though MVMCP goes until midnight, I do not believe there will be regular buses from the resorts to the MK in the late evening. You could end up waiting forever for a bus to the MK that late in the evening. Might be a bad assumption on my part, but I just can't imagine that anyone would want to go to the MK after 9 p.m. - Those with MVMCP tickets should all be there already and in my experience, Disney doesn't run buses if there isn't any load.

ANYWAY, if you don't want to go back to the WL via DD (not that bad of an option, IMHO and buses run until 1 or 2 in the morning), then take a cab. Plan on it costing $12 - $15, including a tip. It will be quick and the wait minimal.

Enjoy!

P.S. The best way would be to drive. But since you didn't mention a rental car, I thought it safe to assume you didn't plan to have one. :D

Buses will continue to run every 15-20 minutes all throughout MVMCP.

Good to know (but it still surprises me)!
