Transportation from resort?

Heres the plan.. me and kids are Amtraking to Orlando area a couple days early and getting a rental car to go visiting. Then DH is flying into MCO and we are going to pick him up, stop for a few groceries, take our stuff to ASMo and return the rental car. My question is, at the end of our 7 or 8 days or whatever, what is the easiest/cheapest way for us to get back to the Amtrak station?

I'm really hoping you are taking Amtrack to Kissimmee and not Orlando. The Orlando station isn't in the greatest area. It's also further from WDW than the Kissimmee station--over 15 miles away.

I'm hearing better things about Kissimmee so we are probably using that station. We have family in other parts of the state though so I may look into those stations too. Going back to PA we will be using the Kissimmee station though.
