I hope I am posting this in the right place... We will be going from DTD on our first day to the Poly to see the EWP and watch the MK fireworks. I was wondering if it was possible to take the monorail to the MK and get a bus to CBR after the fireworks instead of having to go back to DTD and get the CBR bus there. I am pretty sure this is possible. Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks!

Hi Robin,

DTD is the worst place to transfer to anywhere! We made that mistake years ago and learned from a pro what to do (a senior WDW bus driver who was a hoot!). You can tke the bus from CBR over to MK then to Poly. And yes, you can then go back to MK to get home after the fireworks. However, you can also head to the closest park to CBR which I believe is Hollywood Studios then transfer over to the Poly. Whichever bus comes first is the one I would hop on.

Trust me, we made transfers in and out of DTD one trip and we waited and waited for a bus back to our resort. And the sad part is, we were staying across the way at SSR and the boats had stopped running and we didn't want to walk along the path at midnight!

If you plan to be at DTD before going to the Poly, then your plan sounds good. The PP is right, DTD is one of the worst transfer points. On your way back to CBR, you can go from the Poly over to the MK by monorail and catch the CBR bus. Just to warn you though, catching a bus right after the fireworks, it will most likely be very crowded, but still much quicker than going bak to DTD.

Very doable. BUT..hang out at the Polynesian or a bit..let the huge swell of departing guests leave MK. I would say that if you hang at the Polynesian for about 20-30 mins, you won't run into such a huge crowd.
