transportation from MK during EMH

This came up on the theme parks board, and I know you all will have the answer!

Someone said they had to take the WL bus from MK, and then the FW bus from WL at the end of late evening EMH because the FW boats were no longer running. I think they said it was around 11:30pm or so. Do they or don't they run the boats the normal "one hour after closing" on EMH nights? I was staying at CR and checked out yesterday morning at 3am - the same time EMH was ending at MK, and I know I heard boat whistles/horns very clearly. I just can't imagine that they would leave the FW guests "stranded" without any direct mode of transportation. But more than one person chimed in with the same tale.

For the record, my Fort visits are usually in January/February, when you're lucky if EMH runs until 9pm! So it's never been an issue for me.

The boats do run until one hour after closing even for the very late EMHs

If the boats are like the buses, even though the official time is two hours after closing for the buses, the reality is that they run until the parks are clear of all guests. No one is stranded.

That's what I thought - I wonder who these poor people were getting their info from? :confused3 I would think that if there were something wrong with the boats or the dock or something that would physically prevent them from running the boats, that they would have offered some kind of direct transportation (probably by bus) to the Fort, instead of re-routing people through another resort. That just didn't make sense on any level!

I didn't find that they ran until all parks closed. The CM told us that the boats only run one hour after closing MK EMH. On our trip last year, we stayed for the Epcot EMH, took the monorail back to MK to board the boat...... chirp chirp.... no one there. The CMs at the monorial told us that the boats stop running when MK closes. For those resorts dependent on the boats and returning from another park after MK closes... you have to find other transportation. We weren't the only ones that had made this error, the monorail had about 20 people from FW and WL that had thought the boats would still be running. Per CM direction....We ended up having to get back on the monrail, go to Poly., board bus (the CM told us we would have to go all the way to DTD, then get on a bus to FW and WL). Luckily, the driver took us straight to WL, then FW directly. We got back to our campsite at about 3:00am. I felt really bad for the families that had really small toddlers... they were just miserable. If the hours for the boats aren't posted.... they really should be.

For the OP, I just wanted to confirm that the boat to FW runs late on EMH nights in February. In 2008 and 2009, the TCD gang enjoyed EMH's at the MK on the Sunday of President's Day weekend. The MK stayed open until 3 am for these EMH's.

Here is a photo of some of the TCD gang at almost 3:30 am on Main Street:

We left the MK right after this photo was taken, and caught a boat to the Fort at around 3:30 am. We were the only ones on the boat, and they said this would be the last boat of the evening.

When we got to the Settlement, there were two golf carts waiting. Ours, and some else's. I don't know how those folks made it back.

And, for what it's worth, there were buses waiting at the Settlement bus stop (it was just about 4 am) in case anyone needed a ride to his loop.
