My sister is going down to WDW in Jan and I'm helping her plan her trip. They need transportation from the airport to the Pop Century resort, what would be the cheapest way to go for 2 adults?

Thanks!

The cheapest is to take the Lynx #11 bus to downtown, and transfer to the #50 to the TTC. $1.25, and you need a transfer. Once you get to the TTC, you can use Disney Transportation to get to your resort. I"d suggest taking the ferry or monorail to MK and transfer from there. However, you cannot take luggage on the Disney tranportation. If you are traveling with backpacks only, that would be OK. If you have suitcases, from the ttc you can hire a taxi. It could cost 10-15$. Or, you could mail or ship your luggage to your resort. I personally think the cost of doing that is comparable to taking the Mears shuttle to your resort. If you do decide to take the Lynx it will take you about 1.5 hours to get to the ttc and you still haven't reached your resort. Mears isn't great but it is less aggravation than taking the Lynx. However, it too will take you quite a while to get to your resort because you must wait for the correct shuttle, and then it may drop others off first before you get to your resort. However, you did ask for the cheapest and for 2 people, these are the cheapest ways to get to DW. I believe it is 29$ p.p. return on Mears. Plus tips of course.

Only one small carry-on sized piece of luggage is allowed onto a Lynx bus. I've never heard of any restriction on a Disney bus. I've had families with full sets of luggage on my bus before. As long as they can laod it themselves, and keep everything under control, than I'm fine.

Personally, I would NEVER recommend taking the Lynx bus from the airport. It's a minimum of a 3 hour journey, with 4 transfers.

As for what I would recommend... the Mears Shuttle will be the cheapest bet. From what I have been told, the majority of Mears buses that service Pop Century will probably service Caribbean Beach and Pop Century only. Obviously, as demand changes, the route might as well. However, as a general guideline, Mears groups nearby hotels together by location and demand.

I know you asked for cheapest, but I'm going to throw the towncar out there. We will be taking our third trip in January, and there is no way you will ever catch me on a Mears shuttle. I've never done it, but the thought does not appeal to me. With the towncar, you have one driver that is there for YOU. He is on your schedule. After a day of flights, it's nice to let someone be on your schedule instead of doing more waiting. With Mears, I've heard that they will crowd you on the bus and then who knows when they will get to your resort. Not fun at all. With a towncar, they take you directly to your resort, and they are there for only you. I THINK that Mears charges around $12-15 for one way. Maybe I'm wrong. My DH and I used a towncar when it was just the two of us. My husbadn is very cheap, and he won't let me do it any other way.

Up to about three people, Mears is the cheapest direct (or reasonably direct) option. If you have four or more, a town car or limo becomes cost competitive, and it's certainly much less of a hassle.

For $75, you can go round trip for a towncar. Really, that is only $25 more than Mears for a round-trip (pre-tips). For the speed and convenience, it is totally worth the extra money. Plus, they can always get a grocery stop and stock up on water or snacks and get back the extra money they spend with that savings!

Great, you talked me into a Towncar as we wont rent a car this trip.Now.......which one of the MANY companies?
BTW,it will be me and DS10, meaning safest, more reliable, etc.

There are many companies and I'm sure that every one has both negative and positive reviews. People have been stranded and been required to pay more money and have had other problems, but I know that, from my experiences only, I have used Cartier Towncar and never had a problem. I have used both the van and the actual towncar service and both times have had to call and delay my driver due to missing flights and not getting in until a later time. They have always been there when they say and for my last trip, it was a total of $75 round trip going from the airport to all-stars sports and then from the royal pacific to the airport (we took a taxi from the all-stars to the royal pacifc).

Personally, I was comfortable with the reviews of Cartier that I read and used them because their van was cheaper than the other companies and just stick with them for the towncar because I like the service. I'm sure there will be many people to tell you how much they like the other services as well.
