Transportation from LAX

Everytime we don't rent a car we book the Disneyland Express. Waiting on the bench outside in the Californian heat is as much a part of the holiday now as Splash Mountain. Relax, you're going to Disneyland!

So far I have reserved the Disney Express bus through Disney's reservation (as part of our package). It was the least expensive option I could find round trip (staying at the DLH). I just read about Lansky Enterprises. Does anyone have any experience with them? I did a price comparison and it will cost us almost double for the round trip of what the bus would cost (96 round trip for 2 adults on the bus vs about 188 round trip on the car service). That said, the actual dollar amount difference might be worth it to us if it means not waiting more than 15 min or so to get our transportation from the airport. Also, I was told by the reservations agent that the bus does all of it's paperwork once it arrives at the resort area, so there is a good possibility that we would be sitting on the bus for an extended period of time while the bus driver collects everyone's vouchers etc.

Anyone have any experience with a service that is more of a 1 on 1 (ie we aren't picking up or dropping off other passengers)? Recommendations?

The ones I mentioned earlier, 4Most Coach, Zippy and Karmel are shuttles that are not a shared service so it is direct and they use vans. ExecuCar is SuperShuttle's town car service so you are in a much more comfortable vehicle than a van. I don't know Lansky, but their rates are reasonable for a town car/limo service.

We used Lansky last December and we loved it!!! No shared ride is really important to us. It was my husband, my 11 and 15 year old girls and I. The driver meet us at baggage claim, got into the van that was just for us and we went to the Paradise Pier hotel. The driver was very good. My husband who rides in van shuttles from lots of airports to hotels was very impressed. He was waiting for us when we left the hotel and the return trip to LAX was just as smooth. We are using them again in August for an adult only trip.

I have used Lansky several times now. Always prompt! In fact, our return trip, they are always earlier than they say. They meet you right at baggage claim and they take your luggage for you and you are on the way. They are nice and the vehicles are very clean. They take the quickest route.

I've used Karmel and Super Shuttle before and wasn't impressed with either one. I guess Lansky has turned me into a transportation snob ;-)

To be fair you can not compare Lansky's $188 LAX fare to SuperShuttle's $34 rate. ExecuCar from SuperShuttle would give you the same level of service as Lansky at a similar price.

This is awesome. We usually use the Disneyland Resort Express, and I agree, it's kind of become the start of the vacation... that being said, I just checked out Lansky. On their website, included in drop off, they'll do a grocery store run. That actually makes it worth it (in addition to not waiting), simply because to take a cab to a grocery store is such a pain (and then you have to pay for a cab.) Definitely handy if you have a couple people and staying longer than 2-3 days. I might use them for my trip in December rather than the trusty DRE.

Our flight time has changed, and we are now landing an hour earlier, at 12:00 pm. It looks like United uses terminal 7 or 8. So, if the DLRE hits terminal 1 at 12:45, how long does it take to loop around to 7? Seems like plenty of time to land at 12, get bags, and be at stop in time, yes? I'd say you should be fine with that, I used to fly United quite a bit out of LAX and I would say it could be anywhere from 10 minutes to 30 minutes for the bus to make the loop around to Terminal 7.

I am wondering if a car service, like Lansky's would be better for my group? There will be 6-8 of us arriving at LAX. We were planning on using super shuttle or DLE. Any help would be appreciated!!

Our flight time changed and now we're scheduled to arrive at LAX at 9:20pm. Ugh, I didn't want to arrive that late. We would still have to go through customs 'cause we're coming from Canada. What is the best transportation to DL area during late hours?

Super Shuttle sounds like an amazing option and boy, it is really cheap! Only $17 p/person, but the price also makes me a little nervous, I'm guessing it's a shared van? The Disneyland Express is not an option for us because our flight arrives at 9:00 pm, so we're going to miss the last one. We want a cheap option because mom and I are traveling on a tight budget.

Any tips??

1. It is a shared ride so it will pick up at other terminals and drop off at hotel hotels, depending on the passengers and destinations
2. At the airport you could wait up to 20 mins for transport to your destination
3. At your hotel they give you a pick up window of 20 minutes. You could be picked up at any time during this window

Dont stress out about delays at the airport and being picked up from your hotel and you will be fine. Just allow for the delays and you wont get stressed out

This is what I'm worried about too. We rode SuperShuttle on a previous DL trip and our driver had to circle around the arrival area 2 or 3 times to pick up passengers before leaving. That took a while and we were the last ones to be dropped off. It's fine if it's in the afternoon, but if it's late night and we want to get to the hotel as soon as we can, that might be a problem. I think there should be a minimum of 9 people in the van before it leaves LAX, from what I remember the driver told us.

It depends on how many at LAX are going to your destination. The Super Shuttle vans hold a MAXIMUM of 9 people. I used them several times to and from LAX on my June trip and there was never 9 people on each journey, one journey had me and 4 others.

Dont stress out about how many people or how long it will take, its not worth it, just go with the flow. @Lebestiole when you and your mom land at LAX just head out to the Super shuttle pick up point, and check in with the Super Shuttle Rep. You give them your confirmation number and they find your booking on their hand held device and they will give you an approx wait time. I know what its like arriving in LAX and just wanting to get to your hotel, my flight to LA is approx 10 hours, but honestly, just chill. Dont expect to have a Super Shuttle waiting to take you to your hotel as soon as you go to the pick up area.

@LadyBJ the same advice to you. Just chill, and dont make problems where there are none. So what if you have to wait 20 minutes for your van, so what if you have to pick up and drop off other passengers. Yes I know travelling is long and tiring and stressful, I fly from Europe to LA every year, thats approx 24 hours from the time I leave my house to the time I arrive at my hotel, but having been travelling to America for nearly 10 years as well as all over Europe, I have found its just not worth getting stressed out about delays and traffic and tranpfort issues
