If we don't want to rent a car, what's the best way (cheapest/most efficient) to get from LAX to a hotel close to DL (not a resort hotel), and back again a few days later? We are a family of 6 including 18 month twins. We just have a few days in CA and plan to spend as much time as possible at DL/CA.

Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. Does Disneyland Express drop off at other hotels? We are thinking about Park Vue Inn, which is the other side of the park.

The best thing to do is look on the Disneyland Resort Express website... They don't drop off at EVERY hotel... They have pick up points. If your hotel isn't the pickup point, then you WILL have to walk to the nearest pickup point.

For example.... Say your hotel is 2 blocks away from the nearest pickup point. Then you are going to have to walk to and from your hotel with all your luggage. And with small kids, that might not be fun.

For that reason we went with Super Shuttle. They will pick you up and drop you off right at your hotel.

I was actually wondering the same thing as the original poster. Follow up question, do you need to reserve Super Shuttle in advance or can we just find them at LAX at they will take us to the hotel?

The super shuttle website says reservations are not required. But I did, because I found a $4.00 off discount on the mousesavers.com website. Also having the reservations done ahead, will mean less stress at the airport.

Does anyone know which of the shuttle companies only takes reservations and doesn't loop the airports looking for other passengers to fill the shuttle van.

thanks

I have used Karmel Shuttle in the past and been very happy with them. They don't loop and they take reservations.

We used Stellar Limousine & found them at Limos.com They took us from LAX to DH. There were 7 of us, so we thought a suburban limo for $100 was a good deal.

We are considering Execcar, has anyone used them?

Execucar? I haven't used them, but since it's a car not a shuttle, it'll be a private booking. They are run by Super Shuttle.

hkkatie, Disneyland Resort Express isn't run by Disney, but by Grayline. They should have a PDF of their schedule/stops on their website. If you're not bringing carseats it is your only option.

Just chiming in here, I have a 19-month old and didn't want to bring a car service. Disneyland Express isn't the only option, I saw several private transfer/ car service companies that offered to include car seats for free (probably lots more that will include them for a small fee). Depending on how many in your party are adults this could be an economical option. One company I see mentioned a lot is DK Livery but a quick google search turned up a couple of others as well. Seems like it would be a lot less hassle than the bus/super shuttle as well.

Have used them several times. Very reliable, friendly and compared to other services, reasonable. $145 RT , including tip, when booked on line with the Visa discount.

I don't see $145 RT for a private car -- i get $119 each way from LAX to hotel and hotel back to LAX

We use the business option. I'll try and do a little research and post again. Need to book it for my July trip, any way. :)

Found what we used. Execucar run by Supper Shuttle. Business express up to 4 passengers. $72 each way. I used a Visa discount I found on line (did last year too) and when I added a 20% tip at time of booking online my total was right around $144 RT. If you need service for more than 4 then the business service wouldn't work for you. I can tell you the business service is just your party, no trolling the airport of additional fares and no shared ride.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info.
How many people were in your party last time? And do you remember if they limit your luggages?
From their blog they said that the $72 sedan is for 3 people to sit comfortably plus 2 check ins and 2 carryons. More than that they want you to move up to their SUV which is $113.

DH does a lot of travel for work and says he's just going to hail a cab when we get to LAX. I'm a SAHM and the planner in me is  I can't imagine just winging it with transfers!!! What are your thoughts?

Cabs are plentiful at LAX. I am guessing the cb ride will be pricey, however.
