Is there a tram that runs from HS to Downtown Dis. once HS closes?

The question being that we want to stay for park close because we want to see Fantasmic and get the most out of our day. However, we are trying to avoid cab fare since we are on a tight budget. I know there are great restaurants at Downtown and I would love to go there after the park.

No, there are no buses that run directly from the parks to Downtown Disney. You could catch a bus from the Boardwalk if you walked there.

Buses do not run between any of the parks and DTD. Your best bet would be to take either the SSR bus and then walk, bus or boat over to DTD, or boat or walk to BW and take their bus directly to DTD.

Usually the best way yo get to DTD from Studios is to taske the bus to POP and transfer to the DTD bus.

You know..in all my trips going to WDW, I have yet to take the bus to POP and then to DTD. Wonder why.

In any case...gotta love your new signature...Bolivian general indeed!!!

We took the bus to SSR and then the water taxi. Wasn't too bad.

Transferring at Caribbean Beach is a shorter route except that there are 8 stops within. If you got off at stop 3 to make the transfer, then the Downtown Disney bus will make stops 4 through 8 for you and then head off to DTD.

Port Orleans is also sort of long the way but there are 5 stops within. Pop Century has no additional stops inside after you make the connection.

We are looking to do the same thing. We usually find 5 to 6 hours plenty for HS. We were going to eat at the 50's Prime, but, I think I have decided to go over to DTD and eat at Plant Hollywood. I have a 4:45 ressie there. What time should we leave HS?

We usually don't eat at DHS and last year we had stayed for evening EMH there one evening but wanted to eat at EoS. I asked one of the CM's and he suggested the same - take the bus to POP and then to DTD. At the time this was a route bus, so it dropped the guests at POP and proceeded straight to DTD. We were there in less than 20 minutes from leaving the turnstiles. I would suggest checking first though as buses run to a different schedule after official park hours. I do still think it would be the best way to go though.

For park buses, there are only 7 stops within CBR, not 8. One at each of the 6 villages, plus one at Old Port Royale. 6 + 1 = 7.

There is also a bus stop at the Custom House (the front desk/lobby building), but this stop is never used by park buses. The only Disney Transport bus that stops at the Custom House is the CBR internal shuttle.

So yes, if you look at a map of the resort you count 8 bus stops. But if you are riding a bus to or from any outside destination then you'd stop at a maximum of 7 of those stops.

Now wearing the uniform of a General in the Bolivian Army!
Let's assume I wouldn't know a Bolivian general from a bowl of General Mills cereal ... what do the bus drivers' costumes look like nowadays???

You really know your stops. You picked up on the 8 stops. For a while there I was wondering if they added a stop when I wasn't looking. Also sometimes, just sometimes, they'll split the stops so that a bus will do some of the stops and head to the park. I know, it's complicated.
BTW, a Bolivian General looks like CranBiz.
