Transportation from airport to hotel?

I have yet another question. Thank you for your patience with el-dumbo here that has so many questions. LOL

If staying in a resort (such as ASMu) is there free transportation from the airport to the hotel or not? If not, what's the cheapest way to get there? If I stay in a resort such as this I will just forget about the cost of renting a vehicle while there... so how do I get to the hotel? I thought there would be free transportation to the hotel from the airport but somewhere on some website (I've been reading a lot of websites about WDW and discounts/hotels/flights/etc) there was a tiny mention for one resort about purchasing shuttle tickets from the airport to the hotel/resort when arriving for their flight there?

If that is how we get there and it costs... any idea how much?

Thanks

I might be able to answer, but not an expert. There is NO free disney transportation to hotel from airport. Depending on how many are in a group you could check on a Town car service--like Your ride or Tiffany. There is 9 of us going and we are taking Your Ride to our hotel, with a free 30 minute grocery stop before we get to hotel. :) there is also a shuttle called MEARS, which I think is $12.00 PP One way? not sure about that though, from hotel to airport. Your Ride is $80.00 RT so was cheaper for us to do it this way. Taxi's are also an option, but have no idea how much it costs to take one. We are staying at Music resort in 20 days and are using Your ride service a lot while we are there. :) Good luck and have fun. PS: The free transportation you might be thinking about is--if staying at an on-site hotel you get free transportation to the 4 disney parks, and around disney. Also a heads up on Mears shuttle is that MANY people are on this shuttle and you could be first person off or last person, it stops at many places, so you could be on shuttle for a while.

Mogs30 is correct. There is no free transportation between the airport and your WDW resort. You have several alternatives and the least expensive option may depend upon the number in your party.

The least expensive way is the Lynx bus (Orlando's public transportation system). This requires a transfer and if you have more than a carry on bag for luggage, is probably not practical. Cost is a little over $1 (one way) and on average, takes about 90 minutes.

Mears operates a shuttle system. The current round trip price is $28 (adult) or $20 (child) plus tip. You will share the shuttle with other people and may or may not stop at other resorts before reaching your destination.

If you have 3 or more people in your party, you will want to consider a private towncar service. There are several to choose from, including two who help to sponsor this board. The roundtrip price is $80 - $85, plus tip. Your party will be the ony ones in the car and the trip to your WDW resort will take about 40 minutes. Very nice, convenient and quick.

Your other option is to rent a car. Prices vary considerably, depending on company chosen, size of vehicle, length of rental, etc.

Yourride also has a $5 off coupon on their website, bringing the price down even more.

Ciao,

Thanks for all the information. I appreciate it!
I will either be travelling solo or possibly with a friend (if she can go)- so the cost effectiveness of $28 per person with Mears roundtrip is probably not good enough for me. Considering I can rent an economy size car for the duration of the vacation for around $100-$125. So I guess I'll go with renting a car. Thanks!
