Can anyone recommend a great car service for MCO to Vero R/T?

Also what we should expect to pay for service and would also like a grocery stop. I am helping a new member plan for a last minute October trip and Vero is the only DVC we have not yet visited.:goodvibes

Any other tips would be appreciated

I would not recommend going to Vero Beach without a car. There is not much within walking distance, and you need a vehicle to get to most places you would want to visit, eat at, shop at, etc.

They are pretty admanant about not driving. Are there taxi's?

VB is about 2 hrs driving time from WDW, I would say about an hour and a half from MCO.

I have never seen taxis at the resort. It is located outside of the city downtown area, where they probably have some. I would think they could call to order a taxi, but I will guess they are pretty pricey out there.

We always rent a car when we go to Vero, but since hubby lost his job, we are dreaming of running an airport-Vero Beach shuttle ala Magic Express, but of course, for profit. That could include grocery runs to publix, etc. And also - storage like Owners Locker, for beach chairs, etc. A one stop place to enjoy Vero Beach. When we go to Vero Beach though, we are total beach bums and care little about leaving the resort. The only time we go is to get supplies - lunchmeat, bread, tequila, margarita mix, chips, etc. I don't know - does publix deliver?

Oh--I think I wouldn't want to be at Vero without a car. The resorts are on a long stretch of beach with nothing around them. I guess if you have everything you need with you (food, drinks, etc.) and don't plan on eating off Disney's Vero Beach property you'd be okay, but it is a pretty remote area. The stores and restaurants are all a ways a way--definately not walking distance.

I would call VB and ask what they recommend.

I just went into google and entered "Vero Beach Taxi" and a few companies came up. Call them.

Thanks all:goodvibes

I did a search and have called some companies, but was hoping someone here had experiences to share because not all are really dependable and they have been stranded before. There are many with all different price ranges so a higly recommended company is what Im looking for.

They really have no desire to leave the resort. Both need a break from the real world and they just want a grocery stop and the Beach. Ive tried explaining the remoteness but that is what they want.

They have booked an OVIR for Oct 11-16 and their flights and now they need a Towne Car or even a reliable shuttle service.:goodvibes

Thanks again I really appreciate the help:teacher:

If they are adamant about not driving I'd try someone like Happy Limo for a towncar. We've used them before to get to WDW from the airport and were happy. They also are recommended by both mousesavers and allears so I think they're very reliable. And, it looks like they do transfers from the airport to Port Canaveral so this request shouldn't be difficult for them. Now how much.....:scared1: :rotfl2:

Actually, I just looked it up on their website. $412 round trip.

I just pm'd you.....

We have used the same Car Sevice now for several years every time we go to WDW. :goodvibes

over $400 round trip? wow.

We are renting a mid-size car from Avis for 6 days for $230. Having a car seems to be cheaper and more convenient anyway. (Plus, I think we can sneak in a trip to DTD while we are in Orlando!)

thanks Again everyone:thumbsup2

After looking at several options and prices they have taken your most prudent advice and will rent a car. $300 to $450 was the going rate which I truly understand but it took them the weekend to grasp it.
I agree that they will have a much better experience with a car. They can always choose not to use it once there.
