Does anyone have experience with getting to Port Canaveral for a Carnival cruise? A friend and I are planning a three day cruise in November. We plan to fly down on Wednesday, stay in a Disney or Disney-area hotel for one night, and the cruise leaves on Thursday. Does Carnival offer any transportation from Orlando hotels to the port or only from the airport? Thanks for the information!

check on CCL's website as to transfers available for your sailing (your specific ship itinerary, as i recall it'd be listed under excursions) or just call CCL direct to see what they offer.

my guess they have them from MCO, not sure re hotels in the area. you might find it convenient to take a cab back to airport after your night @ disney & use ship's transport

you could price out towncars or 1 day rental (probably cheapest option), returning (offsite) @ the port with one of the companies that offer shuttle or catch a cab for short drive to port from the rental site.

good luck

I doubt Carnival has transfers between the airport and WDW or between WDW and the port. I would rent a car at the airport for drop-off at Cape Canaveral. I have used Avis and Budget, and there's also Hertz and Thrifty in Cape Canaveral. National and Alamo don't have locations near the port to drop-off the car. You can do a reverse one-way rental when the cruise ends to go to the airport, or use Carnival transfers.

No, only from the airport.

This past January, we found it cheaper to rent a car for the week than any of the transfer options. We spent the night before the cruise at Port Canaveral Country Inn & Suites who had a park and sail option. We loved having a car and exploring the cape a little. We then had the flexibilty to return to Disney after the cruise.

Last week we rented a car from Avis for a 1 way, 1 day rental from MCO to the port. Avis had a shuttle to get us to the ship. We took the transfer from RCCL for the return to MCO. Next time, I think we'll rent a car for the return trip, it would be less money.
