Greetings!

Ok - we're going to stay at Disney and take advantage of the Express service from the airport to our hotel. We'll be in Orlando 8 days so we were thinking the first weekend we might take a day & go to Seaworld.

Any advice on getting there? Take a cab, limo? - Is it possible to rent a car to pick up at Disney for a day?

Thanks for your time in responding,

Gary

I would suggest renting a car while on site there at WDW for the day and driving over. Cheaper than the cab fare over and back.

There is a Lynx public transportation bus that goes from the TTC to Seaworld for something like $3-4 per person round trip. I've read good things about it and the trip is supposedly about 30-40 mins each way. I suppose if you got there and didnt' like the bus you could always taxi back.

Try doing a search here on the boards for lynx and seaworld or perhaps someone will post more details.

I second the Lynx BUS(#50) .When we went to SW in January it cost us $60 just to get there( using the Mears system)!

I was wondering the same thing I had heard that there is a shuttle service but have not been able to find any info on it.

There are several options to get to Sea World from WDW.

There is a Lynx Bus that runs from TTC to Sea World. It is a direct bus and is fairly quick. Also very reasonable. However, getting to TTC early in the morning with Disney transportation is the troublesome part.

Mears will transport you to Sea World for about $15 - 16 per person round trip. Contact them the night before by dialing 0 on any Disney House phone and ask to be connected to Mears. Once you are connected to Mears tell them you want to go to SeaWorld the next morning, what resort you are at, and about what time you want to leave. They will give you a pickup time and location. Pay the driver the roundtrip fare in cash. When you arrive at SeaWorld you can arrange a pickup time or call their number about 2 hours before you wish to leave for a pickup time.

Towncars will take reservations to take you to SeaWorld for about $50 roundtrip per car. Advance reservations required.

A 24-hour car rental can run from $35.00 and up through Alamo/National. Pickup is at the Car Care Center or Dolphin.

When you say troublesome what do you mean,( so I can plan ahead for IT if possible ).When we went in January we paid $60 for mears to get us toSW if I had known about Lynx we surely would have used them :confused3

Use Lynx. My mom, dd and I used this a year ago and it was so simple! We are from a small town in Iowa that doesn't even have a city bus and we were able to figure it out.

Go to the TTC and ask... they will tell you exactly which bus to take and how much it will cost. Then when you leave SeaWorld make sure you cross the stree to pick the bus up that is going back to Disney. Very simple!

We were planning on taking the LYNX to SW but I have asilly question. Do they take bills, credit cards, tokens, script, IOUs etc. Or do Ineed to bring a couple of rolls of quarters?

Is the problem getting to the TTC that there aren't many TTC buses runnig early in the AM due to all of the park buses running?

Thanks

The best way to get to the TTC in the morning would be to take an early bus to the Magic Kingdom, then tell them you are having breakfast at the Poly so they'll let you on the resort monorail, then get off at the Poly and walk to the TTC.

Not very direct at all.
