Transportation between resorts, ASM, WL

Does anyone know how to go and how long it will take us to go from ASMusic to WL? Should we just take a taxi, and if so do we have to call for it or will there just be one to pick up outside the resort? What is happening for us is that a 3 night package at the WL is unavailable, we an only get only 2 nights, 11/11 and 11/12, so we have to stay at ASM on our arrival night (late) 11/10. We want to get to MGM asap on 11/11, but I think we'll have to get to WL to check in and get our MYW package tickets. If we rely on busses, should we just get on the first one we see, (either MK then boat to WL) or (TTC, then bus to WL)? I've never stayed at either resort before and am unfamiliar with the transportation. This ties in with the other thread about getting MYW tickets before check in...If somehow we could do that it might be better??
I'm just trying to maximize our weekend time, since we've never been for such a short time before. It is our 20th anniversary weekend away without kids!

get up early the next morning - the character buses should be running - the theme park buses start an hour before opening.

you can check in the hotel at 7:00 am that morning.

I would go ask this on the transportation board.

there are some WDW bus drivers over there that can probably help you more.

You can take a taxi. They will be sitting out in front of the resort, or, if not, ask the front desk to call one for you. The ride will be about 15 minutes and should cost no more than $15 plus tip.

If you want to use WDW transportation, take the early morning character bus to MK (start operating at about 6:30). Tell the driver you need to go to the Contemporatry Resort. If he can't drop you off there, you can walk to the CR in 5 minutes. Walk to the boat loauch. Take the boat to WL (starts operating at about 6:45).
