Transportation between Resort & Universal ...

I will be staying at a DVC resort in March for a week but will need to go to the Universal Studios area for some competitions. What is the best transportation if you don't have a rental car? Taxi or Mears? Plus, how much does it cost for a taxi - I've never taken a taxi before so don't know how much it would be - about 13 miles is the distance - plus the tip?????? Does Mears offer a roundtrip pkg?

We use Berkley Transportation. He is $65 round trip. Dependable and always great.

My problem is that I would need the transportation for 3 days - roundtrip each day and that can get very, very expensive. Mears looked like $16 roundtrip each day and that's not too bad at all. Definitely cheaper than a taxi ($30 each way)

For one person, Mears is the best price to Universal. If you don't want to fool with the cash each day, stop by the Mears desk at MCO before heading to Disney and purchase vouchers ahead of time. They take cash or credit at the airport. Make it clear that you want 3 round trips for one person for three different days.

You will still need to call Mears the night before you wish to leave each time and schedule the actual transportation time/location.

You can do this by dialing "0" from your room phone or any house phone. The Disney operator will answer and you can ask to be transferred to Mears. That saves the local phone charge on your room phone, or saves minutes on your cell phone.
