We are arriving late in the afternoon and are planning to stay off site somewhere for one night before beginning our adventures :) my question is, how is the best way to do this? I don't want to rent a car and would like to possibly avoid going back to the airport to catch the DME. Where would you suggest? And do any of them close to disney have an airport shuttle? Thanks so much!

Walt Disnet World is too far from the airport for any of the nearby hotels to offer a shuttle. There's always Mears, then a taxi from that hotel to wdw. /ut by the tim ou done paying for both rides, it's probably more cost-effective to use DME and spend your first nnight at a Value resort.

Unless you want to stay at the Hyatt right at the airport I would just add a night to your Disney resort. That way you are on property and ready to go for your first morning. You'll lose half a day moving to Disney and without renting a car I don't think you'll find if very cost effective.

Stay a night at a Value Resort if you're not already. They are the least expensive and comparable in price to any hotel off site.

There are some hotels close to the airport that have a shuttle back and forth to MCO. But that's the only shuttle you'll get. These resorts won't get you to WDW. You have two good choices...
1. stay at a WDW value resort that night (taking DME there) and moving to your new resort in the morning

2. stay at a hotel close to MCO, with a shuttle to and from the airport, getting up early to get back to MCO to take DME to your WDW resort.

WDW is about 30 mins from MCO..so you aren't going to find any hotels/resorts that will offer a shuttle from the airport, and then to WDW.

I love the idea of staying at a value resort for the night! Do we just get a can to the new resort? Or will they move our bags? Thanks for the great tip!

They will move your bags for you. It will take several hours for them to do so, but they do it. You can drop your bags off at bell service as you leave the first resort and pick them up that afternoon/evening at the next resort or have them delivered to your room. That way you can get up have breakfast and hit the parks without any muss or fuss.:cool1:
