I was reading Birnbaum's book today for our trip in Sep/Oct of 2007. I came to the transportaion section, and saw the train option.

I would be taking it from Wilmington, DE. Has anyone taken the train to Orlando? It is app. a 22 hour trip. I will have a 3.5 yr old and maybe a couple month old baby(am currently trying). Is it worth it? According to Amtrak it would be about $ 600 round trip for 4, and through Us Airways, it was appr $1000 for 3 seats roundtrip.

Any input or suggestions?

I live near Wilmington and fly Southwest out of Philly to Orlando all the time. You can easily get a flight for under $200 R/T that lasts under 2.5 hours. I would not want to take an extra 20 hours each way to get there and back.

Thanks, I will look into Southwest. I forgot about them. Our last trip was last min and Southwest didn't have anything available. We ended up going with Us Airways, then tend to be high. :confused3
