Other than renting a car, how can we best get from John Wayne International Airport to our hotel in Anaheim and back again? We plan to stay at the Sheraton Park Hotel, if that makes any difference.

There are shuttles, Supershuttle and Primetime are two. Supershuttle is $20 roundtrip per person, or you can get an exclusive van for up to 7 people for $94 roundtrip. I think Primetime is a little more expensive.

We took a taxi, and it cost was $35 dollars. It was like a mini van type taxi, and the 3 of us split it. The driver said it is a very good deal if you have more people!

Why dont you call Sheraton and ask them if they offer shuttle services...

I called the hotel, and they said they don't offer a shuttle service to the airport.

At the airport, do you need to have a reservation in order to use a shuttle, or is it more like a taxi, where you just walk up?

Just walk across the street to the transportation/shuttle platform, tell a guy in blue shirt (for Super Shuttle) what hotel /city you are stayng and they will call up a shuttle for you. Super Shuttle takes credit cards.
I would double check the price, it's $15 one way per person from LAX to Anaheim, I think it's only $10 each from SNA?? Prime Time had same prices for LAX as Super Shutle, not sure about SNA.

You can walk up for a taxi as well, they are lined up waiting for passengers (same platform area ). Ask for a set rate instead of by the clock/meter.

You don't need a reservation for shuttle or taxi service. SNA has a convenient "Ground Transportation Center" located right next to the baggage claim area. There is usually a person at the counter to answer any questions. And there is also a self help phone that connects you to all the shuttle and taxi service.

Despite the convenience, I still suggest you call ahead just so you can shop around for the best price. It will also save you time and energy. Shuttles can take a while to pick you up if you call from the airport upon arrival. Five minutes can feel like a lifetime when you're juggling luggages and kids at the airport.

Shuttle services often offer discounts if you reserve ahead of time. Some will also help you coordinate a shared ride with another group of people for added savings (shuttles usually charge a flat fee per trip, so the more people you have on the shuttle, the lower the cost per passenger).

Here is the list of the shuttle services that service SNA
ABC Shuttle (714) 719-4197

I was initially going to take a shuttle, but someone posted that it's actually cheaper to take a taxi if you have 3 or more in your party, and a lot more convenient, as the shuttles will stop at other hotels and your trip may take some time.

We decided to go with a car rental instead, reasoning that we could use the car to eat off property, make a grocery store run, or go the Disney outlet store. In our case, it was a waste of money, because (aside from the trips to and from the airport) we only used it once, to get dinner @ Mimi's and make a grocery store run. It would have been much cheaper to have the groceries delivered! We were just having so much fun in the parks, we didn't want to leave. Ah well, live and learn.

Next time it will be a taxi for us!

SUPERSHUTTLE!!!
It only costs you $10 per person each way. We have always had really nice drivers, and they are always on time to your hotel to pick you up to bring you back.

Wow! Thanks for all the great advice! :woohoo:

Last time I was at Disneyland, I simply drove from my house to the park. This visiting-from-out-of-state thing is going to take some getting used to. :teeth:

Looks like I have some calling to do, and then some deciding. I didn't expect this to be as big of a decision as which hotel to stay at! :rotfl:

Thanks again for all the wonderful advice and help.
