We are ariving prior to our Panama cruise and staying at the Grand Californian Hotel. We are looking at transport from the airport and cannot decide between Supershuttle and Disneyland REsort Express and wonder if anyone has done both of these and can help.

Notice that Supershuttle have luggage restrictions and am not sure how long we could expect the journey to take.

Thank yoy for your help
Brenda

We are taking the Disneyland Express Bus. You can get a discount booking on their web site and the bus goes straight to the Disney hotels first. With the Super Shuttle you chance being on there with people not going to Disneyland that are just going home.

It is between 20-30 minutes from the airport to the hotel based on traffic. We always take a cab since it is a straight shot with no other drop offs. They are lined up right outside of the baggage claim area. It costs about $40. Just wanted to give you another option

I second the suggestion to consider a taxi. When we went to DLR last time, it was so nice to be taken directly to our motel with no stops along the way. Since there were 4 of us, it actually ended up being less expensive to take the taxi than it would have been on a shuttle with multiple stops. Even if it hadn't been less, I would have wanted the taxi just for the shorter ride and convenience.

Do the taxis charge flat rate, mileage, or time? We're coming in at rush hour :scared1:

I believe all taxis at the airport have a flat rate to the DLR area hotels but it's been a couple years since we went. From what I recall, the flat rate isn't guaranteed for the return trip but I think it's possible to get the flat rate when you call the taxi company to arrange for the motel to airport transportation.

Thank you everyone for your help - was considering the Disneyland Express and now wonder about the taxi but sometimes I know they also charge extra for baggage so am a bit confused but we have now two options I think.

I chose SuperShuttle when I came into SNA. There was only one other person on the shuttle with me; he wasn't going to disney, but he was staying in the hotel next door to mine, so we went straight there.

Price it all out; I think that SS has info about how much luggage they allow and what their extra charges for, so definitely get a quote from them.

You could get a van sized taxi. We received voucher for a flat rate from the bell captain at our hotel (DLH) for the return

We were going to take a taxi also, but with a family of four the Disneyland Bus was cheaper. $80 round trip with taxi or $76 for the bus round trip. About the same price but the bus will be much more fun for the kids.

We took a limo from SNA to GCH each way. It was a surprise from me, for my family of 5. They quoted me $90. each way, with tax and gratuity it came to $114. each way. This included a bottle of champage for my husband and I, and soft drinks for the kids. It was fabulous, made it so special.

We used Starz limo because they gave us a low quote. http://www.starzlimousine.net/index.html I have to say that although it was fabulous to be picked up promptly, in a limo-- the limo was not the bigger one from the picture that they said we'd get. They were very nice and prompt, however.

That said, I remember an earlier thread that suggested that you call one of the DLR hotels, like the Grand, and ask the service desk for recommendations, then get quotes from those companies. DLR doesn't get paid to advertise them, they just recommend what companies in their experience do a good job.

Also you had to specifically request to have champagne in the car. We didn't for the trip back, and the standard decanters of bourbon and gin were in there, and pepsi and diet pepsi, but nothing else, and not much ice, either.

How long is the trip from SNA in rush hour? I arrive at 5 pm on a Friday evening :scared1: and depart at 10:30 a.m. on a Wednesday morning.

We got into SNA on Monday at around 5 p.m. It took us maybe 20 minutes; traffic was stop and go.

I've never heard of the Disneyland Express. Where can I get more info on it? Thanks! :goodvibes
