This airline will soon start flying out of Harrisburg, PA non-stop to Sanford, FL. Can anybody tell me anything about this airline and Sanford Airport?

TMA seems to be moving into smaller airports to market specific routes. We just had them move into the Rockford Illinois airport and they offer one daily flight to/from Las Vegas and one daily to/from Orlando's Sanford.
We're flying them in June when we go. As this will be our first flight into Sanford, I've been asking periodically about it as well.

Here's what I've found: Sanford adds roughly an additional 30 minutes to/from WDW .vs. Orlando international. The transporters charge anywhere from $50-100 more.
The airport itself is very basic--not much more than a cafe and one shop. TMA is getting high marks from people I know who've used it...they apparently serve a "real" meal if your flight is of a certain time and we can get tickets anywhere from $55 to $99 each way if you are one of the first 20 or so to book for your flight. After those are gone, the prices go up.

The price alone is worth it to us plus the fact that our commute into Ohare in Chicago is avoided and instead of 5 hours of travel and waiting, we have 45 minutes of travel right to the front door.

I'm going to be starting a thread about limo services to /From Sanford next month as we don't want to rent a car.

We're already booked into our hotel at WDW so all that is left is to wait and book TMA once our months' dates are posted on their website.
I have a friend who lives in Celebration, Florida and I'm going to ask him to get me the number of Sanford so I can ask about limo services to/from also.
Stay tuned.....

Bumping this up:bounce: :Pinkbounc we are thinking of booking this for June also....we have always going to mco...now there is a straight through flight from Harrisburg...wondering about dollor rent a car...and where in the airport it is located... thanks..amy

The airline provides good service and many direct flights at good prices. They also provide meals on many flights. The bad part is that they are a charter airline and are not governed under the rules of the big boys. They can cancel flights without little notice and are not responsible to get you on another. This happened last year in Syracuse and other areas where they cancelled many non profitable flights last minute and passengers were left scrambling to find other means. I heard that some even showed up for their flights to find them cancelled, but I do not know if this was entirely true.
The Sanford airport is small and basic, about 25 minutes further from the attractions than the Orlando airport. It costs 40-50 dollars more for a towncar, but I can not tell you about rentals.

Wow..... now i am wondering if i should book with them... nothing would be worse than finding out your flight was canceled.... amy

Be careful with TMA.
Read the fine print too. The prices at first are real good, but they do add quite a bit to the tickets like all AA, Delta, United (fuel surcharges, Psgr Svc Fees, Security etc). They keep those hidden until you get to the page where you complete the transaction.

They are a charter airline and as Prince Eric1 said they will cancel an unprofitiable route at the last second. The bad news then is thier tickets WILL NOT be honored by the major carriers. They do not have a ticketing agreement with anyone. Granted they wont do that everytime, but it still kind of scary thinking about it.
