"Transitions" Lenses

I have had them in the past and no I will not get them again. They never turned when I was driving - when i needed it the most. Now I use either the slide ons(cant really call them clip ons the pull apart and then slide over your frames) alot of people cant even tell you have them on. Now I have sunglasses that go over my reg glasses they have "driving lens" in them no they dont look like they are for 80 yr olds im almost 34 and I would not wear anything like them (on a side note my dd whos 12 kept stealing mine for her softball games so I got her a pair) they have them at cvs/rite aid for around $20 all different shapes and sizes the trick is to find the ones that fit the best over your glasses I cant even feel when I have mine on. hth

I think the 'fitovers' is the route I'm going :thumbsup2

I had transitions lenses with my last pair of glasses. Under our insurance, they were "free" and thus, I got them thinking they would be convenient. Well, it probably says it all that this time, I refused to get them, even though they were still "free." Instead, I paid for clip on sunglasses (fit my lenses exactly, and do not look like "grandma" glasses).

What I hated most was that they transitioned too slowly, and I hated seeing pictures with my eyes constantly obscured. Ugh! Plus, the transitions were never dark enough in bright sunlight.

They weren't for me.

I hated the transition lenses because they didn't work where I needed them, in the car. Plus, they didn't get dark enough for me anyway. I like dark, dark, dark sunglasses.

Now, I use the fitover shades that others have mentioned. They are frameless, which makes them very lightweight. And, as others mentioned, they come in all shapes and sizes. The key is to get the ones that closely match your regular lenses. I just got a new pair for $13 at Walmart(they have them in the jewelry section). They fit so closely to my lenses that you can't even tell they are "clip ons".

Yup, 3 out of the 4 of us have Transitions. My baby boy is still too young, so once he turns 4, he'll get them as well.

Hubby and I also have clip on blade to fit over while we are driving.

We really like our Transition lenses, especially when we are in WDW! With all 4 of us in glasses, that would be 8 pair of glasses to carry around with us. Yikes!

I have transition lenses and I love them..my lenses change in car and block out the sunlight. I have not had any problems with them and will get them again at next prescription.

I love transition lenses. I don't have these problems with taking time tom change or maybe I've had them for so long that I don't notice. I have a pterygium on my eye so I needed something to help protect my eyes from the sun.

I forgot who posted about Zenni Optical, but thank you! I desperately need new back-up glasses (wear contacts all the time), but optho expects cataracts will be "ripe" in about Dec., at which time I'll have permanent lenses implanted to give me 20/20 vision (which I haven't had for 60 years!). So I don't want to spend a bomb; mine usually cost more than $300! So I can get regular glasses and prescription sunglasses. Thank you again!
