My mom's neighbor was diagnosed with this. She has had alot of stress in her life in the last year, and recently she just suddenly lost all memory of a few weeks ago. After a ton of tests, they diagnosed it as transient global amnesia - basically brain overload. The brain just can't fit anything more in, so it kind of shuts down the memory function or something like that. Really weird. Anyone else ever have it or hear of it?

she was in her 70s and they said it was like a little mini stroke....she was fine in a few days.....and then back to normal.....no side effects at all....she is going to be 89 in a few weeks

Sounds like a "Brain Cloud" to me.

My mom had an episode of TGA a long time ago. She lost a whole day out of her life.

Apparently, it's nothing to worry about, and there's nothing you can do about it when it happens.

Just one of those weird things.

Really weird. I guess she's fine now and is back to work, but it freaked her out a bit.
