We are taking our third Disney Cruise this April. This is our first time not having a car, so we are flying in the night before and staying in a hotel that has a free transfer to and from the airport. Sat AM we will take the transfer to the airport and take the Disney Cruise Line Bus to the ship(I think the first one is at !0:00AM. Any suggestions on a better way to the Ship? I didn't know the pros and cons of renting a car or taking a limo service. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

we did exactly what you described and it worked out really nice! LOVED the DCL transfers! Although it sounds like you still have a choice whether you want to take the DCL Bus or other means of transportation...have you not purchase your transfers?

The DCL bus was comfortable. They show a DCL video on the way there. Sometimes the bus driver will narrated important sights on the way there. I think they start boarding at 9:30 am from the airport.

We also plan to do to this same thing in April. I'm sure we are not alone... :)

We thought about other transportation but decided that sitting in a limo for an hour (our however long it is) to port sounded pretty boring compared to being on the DCL buses with other people going to the cruise and getting to see the video and stuff.

Plus, since there was only 2 of us it's considerably cheaper to take the transfers. If there are a lot of people in your group it might be less expensive to take another form or transportation. Two limo companies off the top of my head are www.tiffanytowncar.com and www.happylimo.com. You could check the rates for either of those places (and don't forget to add in the gratuity when comparing prices).

Someone noted to make sure that you don't put your DCL luggage tags on your bags if you are coming in the night before. Whatever method you choose, you might want to keep that in mind.

When we went in October of 2003 (family of 4) we booked a towncar from FL Tours. We are going again in June and will be using them again. We come in the night before and they pick us up from our motel....and they were there waiting when we got back from the cruise. I think it was around $160 roundtrip to book a towncar.

A mid-size car from Budget is costing us under $30 for the one-day, one-way rental. Budget does not charge one-way dropoff charges, and has a shuttle from its office in Cape Canaveral (which is less than 2 miles from the port).
