Transfers from MCO to land portion?

I have read somewhere that Disney uses Mears Shuttles to transfer passengers from the airport to their hotels for the land portion. Is this still the case? I was under the impression that we got to ride the DCL buses on all legs of the transfers.

You would use the Disney Cruise Line buses as well - they are operated by Mears. You only use the buses if you arrive on Thursday or Sunday (Saturday for the 7 day cruises). If you arrive after 6 PM or on another day, you would use the regular Mears suttles. Basically, if you arrive on the normal day, you'd be riding in style.

Back in the days when we used to use DCL transfers, we were put in a Mears van if we elected to return to a WDW hotel after the cruise, even tho' we paid the regular transfer rate.

We came in late in the afternoon on a Thursday and there was a Disney Cruise Line bus waiting for us. We never had to use the Mears shuttle
