This spring, bought a resale BWV contact, different UY from an existing membership/contract we own there

Thus far things have gone well booking etc. until now, don't want to mess up

Find myself with points left over on the april UY, new-2nd contract/membership#

Instead of banking them all to '25, considering transferring a few of those points to the October BWV UY 1st contract.

I'm coming up just a few points short on a sept '25 reservation. Really don't want to borrow on that contract if I can avoid it

Would be my first transfer to myself, bit confused as to whether this will work as I assume I'd need to "bank" the '24 transferred points for the reservation period. Not sure if that is permissable

A September 2025 trip is in an April 2025 UY, so to use the points in your Oct UY membership, you need to transfer them first, in the 2024 status, and then you can bank them.

Points, when transferred keep home resort and UY, so even when transferred, your April UY points are still April UY points,,,,they are now sitting in a temporary contract in your October UY membership.

As noted above, you can transfer the 2024 points from the the April use year membership to the Oct use year membership, and, after doing so, you can bank those transferred points into the April 2025 use year. Note that such banking must be done by Nov 30, 2024.

Be aware, however, of the following:

1. At 11-months out, a member usually cannot use those transferred points in a reservation by doing a reservation online at 8 a.m. eastern. The member usually needs to contact Member Services both to do the transfer and to use those points in such a reservation, and MS does not open until 9 a.m.

2. For the latter part of Sep, standard and boardwalk view studios and 2BRs generally fill right about 8 a.m. at 11-months out (although sometimes the rooms are filled even before your 11-month out date by those doing multiple-day reservations shortly before your desired 11-month out date). Thus, if you will seeking one of those studios or 2BRs, and wait until 9 a.m. to make the reservation, there is a risk you will not get what you want. In fact, a risk exists of not getting your desired reservation even if you try to book online right at 8 a.m.

3. Thus, if you actually want such a studio or 2BR and to use transferred points, I would recommend doing the following "walk." Tomorrow, Oct 11, 2024, at 8 a.m., you should attempt to start a "walk" by booking Sep 11, 2025, and as many days after that you can get with your Oct use year points. If you are successful in getting that reservation, modify it daily by dropping the arrival date and adding a date at the end of the reservation, and continue to do that until you get to a reservation that has your desired arrival date. Do not transfer any points from the April 2024 use year while doing that "walk." If the walk is successful, then once you have the actual desired arrival date, plus some days thereafter, you can contact MS (at or after 9 a.m.) and do the transfer of points from the April use year, bank them, and modify you reservation to add a day or days using the transferred points.

Thus, if you actually want such a studio or 2BR and to use transferred points, I would recommend doing the following "walk."

Burnt several times at BW trying for standard studio, do that walk

I transferred them over (using chat) before storm hit, not knowing if MS would be working

Interestingly, could see the transferred points, clearly indicated as an option to select to use today when I moved the res forward.

You can see the contract when you go to book, but if you are trying to use it during the 11 months window you might get an error or the dwarves when you try to book.

Just want you to be aware of that aspect!

Yea. If the transfer brings it into the same UY and resort as your second membership 11 months should work. If diff like your scenario no guarantee. I would bank on having to call at 11 months to use

Must call because they are in a temporary contract in your membership.
