Transferring To A New Resort

I know that a lot of you do this and I was wondering the best way to do it. I would be going from ASMo to POR. I plan on having my luggage moved by the magical people who do it. Now, should I check out of ASMo in the morning, head straight over to POR and check-in and head off to the parks? Or check out of ASMo, go to the parks and then in the afternoon, head over to POR and check-in?? Or is there another way that you recommend??

When we switched rooms, I stayed at AK with my kids while hubby went to check in at SSR. We wanted to check in early so we could get a room preference. We got really lucky and the room was ready at like 9am. (I had him beg and beg and beg)

After he checked in, he came back and picked us up and we went to the parks.

We had a car, but if you don't it may be difficult to do this because the buses don't travel between resorts. I guess he could take a cab.

We personally go over to the new resort right away, then head off to the parks. One time our room was ready and the other time it was not. Either way, whenever you do it, it will take some time out of your day.

Should I just take my luggage with me on the buses or have it moved by the Disney people who (are suppose to) do it?

have them do it. Its very simple.

Go check-in to your new resort first thing in the morning. Leave your luggage in your old room and they'll move it for you. But make sure you take anything you might need that day with you because luggage transfers have sometimes been known to take until 5:00 or 6:00 PM if they are running behind schedule. One time when we were switching from the Poly to BC our luggage was in transit for about 9 hours... and I didn't have enough diapers! Oops!!!!

I think I am just going to throw my stuff in a cab so I know where it all is. Then I don't have to worry about where my luggage is and when it will get to my new room. A couple of extra bucks is worth the peace of mind.

Will Pop still bring my luggage down for me?
