transferring points

A friend, who owns at OKW, just booked our early December trip. I already transferred thirty points, into her account, and will transfer all of my 150 points when I get them in October. My home is BCV. We both have October use years.

Should she call MS, closer to our trip, and tell them to use my points for this stay or will they automatically do that?

MS will not automatically do that. Your friend would have to call and make that request. However, since your points are not OKW points, your friend will not be able to use those points for that reservation unless there are still GV available to book when the 7 month window opens. If MS allowed that type of reallocation, it wouldn't be fair to OKW owners on the waitlist - in essence, it would be a way to get around the home resort advantage.

If I follow this correctly, since she has already booked the trip, the points have already been used. You can't call a couple of months before a trip and change the points to that of a different resort.

Why switch more points into her account in a few months unless it's to pay her back?

It is to pay her back. I have to give her the 180 points it cost for the GV. She owns 310 OKW points, and I wanted to make sure we got the GV, so she booked it.

I hope I didn't mess her up transferring my BCV points. Is this going to be a problem for her?

If she wants to book OKW for her next trip, she'll have to wait until 7 months to use the transferred points. She could book BCV at 11 months with them.
