im new at this. In the process of buying a DVC. As an example if I have 200 pts at OKW and another at 50 pts at BLT can I transfer my pts from OKW into my BLT account and be able to use all my pts to book 11 months out. Thanks

No you cannot.

Each resort you own has the 11 month window only with those points.

If you were allowed to do this, everyone would own 25 points at their favorite resort and buy a ton of points at the cheapest resort. Disney is smarter than that! :-)

DVC points are like currency. If you have 200 Mexican pesos in wallet #1 and 50 US dollars in wallet #2, and you transfer pesos from wallet #1 to wallet #2, the pesos do not become dollars. Same thing with DVC points. An OKW point is tagged as an OKW point. There is no way to change it into a BLT point.

Until 7 months prior to check in when you can use any of your points at any resort subject to availability.

But even at 7 months out, an OKW point is still an OKW point even if used to book BCV. If OKW points are used to book a different resort 7 months out and then that reservation is cancelled, the DVC member gets OKW points back in his/her account. (I know you know this Bill, but for the newbie who asked the question, I think it's important to understand that a point from one resort never morphs into a point from a different resort.)

True but the newbie also needs to know that they can use their home resort points anywhere starting at 7 months prior to check in. :-)

Thank you all its what I thought but someone mentioned it and I knew the people on here would know. Thanks all.

If both of your contracts are the same UY and member ID number, you wouldn't transfer points from one to the other. They would be in the same pot, but separate resorts. If you purchased a second contract, different UY, different names on the deed, it would be a separate member number and you could transfer from one to the other. BUT they would still remain home resort points.
