Transferring Points

I'm hoping someone can answer this for me. If someone transfers points to you do those points then take on your UY? I hope this isn't a totally stupid question but I've never had someone transfer points and I have been looking at the trade/rent board. I noticed a posting that someone only has until May 08 to use their points so what I don't know is does this mean I would have to use those points by May 08 if I agreed to a transfer?

Transfered points retain their home resort and UY.
