Transferring Points Question

Hi,
Need help. If I have a trip planned for the summer and can't go and my UY is September, can I transfer those points into my sister's account (she has a different UY) or do they still expire in September? Or since, they are transferred, do they expire at the end of her UY if not banked?

If you cancel your reservation those points return to your Sept. 2006 UY...now provided they are not banked points from your 2005 UY or borrowed points from your 2007 UY, then yes you can transfer them into your sisters account regarless of her use year, those points will then become part of her allotment and from what I have read normal banking deadlines won't apply to those points, she could even bank them into her next use year if she wanted. Now, all of this is contingent apon neither of you having done a transfer for this use year, since you are only allowed one in or out per UY.

Thank you. I think that is the answer I wanted to hear.

transferred points retain all aspects of the transferer's home resort.

Thus they retain your Home Resort, and your Use Year month, and your Use Year.

In the past the MS computers' have 'morphed' points, but they have made a number of changes and that no longer happens.

Hot off the press from Vacation Magic Don't think it says anything we didn't already know but did like the extra little comment about asking questions
Does this mean the system is fixed?

Answers to your Vacation Point transfer questions
Having received several questions about the transferring of Vacation Points, the Vacation Magic staff is pleased to share the following answers with those inquiring Members (as well as those of you who secretly wanted to know but were afraid to ask).
Do transferred Vacation Points retain the transferring Member's Use Year? Yes, when transferring your Home Resort Vacation Points to another Disney Vacation Club Member, those Vacation Points retain your Use Year and therefore expire at the end of your next Use Year.

How many Vacation Point transfer transactions can I make during a Use Year? Policies limit Vacation Point transfer transactions to one transfer per Member or Membership, either as transferee or transferor, during a given Use Year.

Will the Member Web site display Vacation Points I received as a transfer from another Member? Vacation Points transferred to you from another Member may not appear in your Vacation Points history on the Member Web site. In that case, simply call Member Services to inquire about those Vacation Points.

I wasn't aware MS had fixed all parts of the problem, I thought they had just fixed the resort identity peice...
Thank-you for the clarification, and my apologies to the OP, sorry.

Don't worry about it...wishful thinking. I hope I can go in August and won't run into the problem!

Don't worry about it. According to my sources, it was only truly 'fixed' just recently. (That means days or weeks, not months ago)
