We are owners of 225 points at AKV. June UY. Family of 4 with 2 kids (ages 8 and 6). We have annual pass vouchers back from the days that there were no black out dates on the AP for DVC members. I'm assuming that will still be the case when we activate these! If so, we'd like to do 3 trips in 2019.
1) April 2019- Spring Break. Already have a week booked in a value studio
2) June 2019- Trip with extended family. Have 2 value studios booked for a week.
3) December 2019- Would like to go over Christmas. See the new Star Wars Land and experience Disney at Christmas. We would again probably try for a value studio.

We have all of our June 2019 points accounted for for the first 2 trips. We would need to borrow from 2020 to make the Christmas 2019 trip happen.

Now for the confusing part! We want to go to Aulani in the summer of 2020. Someone on the Rent/Transfer board has points I'm looking at having transferred. Their points are a Dec 2018 UY. Am I correct that those points can be banked and would be able to be used in June 2020? Would it be a problem to bank the points from the Aulani contract and have home advantage to book at the 11 month window for our 2020 trip to Aulani but then turn around and borrow points from our 2020 AKV contract to cover our Dec 2019 trip at AKV? I hope that makes sense to someone out there!

That is correct. Banking December 2018 UY points will make them valid between December 1, 2019 through November 30, 2020. Your summer 2020 trip would fall within that UY.

You would need to bank the points by July 31, 2019, and the only problem is that you'll need to call into MS to book your Aulani trip, so if you are booking a high-demand date/room category, you won't be able to book until 9am Eastern (at the earliest) via phone (vs. others who own there and are able to book at 8am Eastern online).

In terms of borrowing for two resorts, the two sets of points (AKV and AUL) are essentially two different memberships that have nothing to do with one another. In fact a lot of people who own multiple UYs do so with the expectation that they'll use them for completely different vacations, never combining them; exactly as you are planning to do here.

Just treat your Aulani trip as a totally separate unrelated vacation that does not in any way affect your AKV trips. It's a lot less confusing that way.

I just made a reservation on Saturday for March at Kidani Village using current, borrowed and transferred points (my own points, just another membership that we own). I had it all worked out on paper so the right points would be used. The CM at MS liked that I had it all worked out, too. So when you go to book your Dec 2019 trip, just make sure you tell the CM that you are using your June AKV points to book that.

just make sure that the owner of teh Aulani points doesn't bank them before the transfer. You can bank transferred points...but you cannot transfer banked points.
