Transferring between resorts

Will Disney provide any help switching between resorts? I have a split stay planned for October 2012 at Saratoga Springs and Animal Kingdom Lodge (wanted to be Boarwalk, but I was outvoted!) and I'm trying to figure out how it's going to work. If it helps, we're renting DVC points at both places.

Also, any tips on getting food from one resort to another? Since check out is 11 and check in isn't until 4 I'm a little worried about our frozen/perishable foods. One of the big draws of the DVC resorts for us was being able to have our own food, and I don't really want to order at Garden Grocer twice. If I have to I will though!

Thanks :).

Yes, bell services will transfer all of your things, including your food. You simply give them a call the morning you are changing resorts and they will come and get your things.

Just be sure to pack your things that are pershiable and mark them as such (save your bags from GG) and let them know about that when they pick up your things. They have freezers and coolers to keep those things.

Your things will arrive at the new resort sometime in the afternoon so if you think you may want to swim, etc. until the room at the new resort is ready, then I would keep those things with you.

We do split stays every summer and it is really easy. We just take a taxi to the new resort to check in, drop off the things we don't want to send via bell services (I don't send my electronics) and then head to a park.

Good luck and have fun!!

Sandisw mentioned she doesn't send he electronics with bell services but we have. We have showed them which bag contained the electronics and asked them to please be extra careful with those bags. They actually marked them with a special tag. I know we've been lucky to not have any damage, but so far so good. Remember to tip them for taking your bags. If you don't want to take a taxi, you can take a bus to DTD or any park and then hop on the bus going to AKL.

Thank you both very much! This is great news.

I think we (or I will, at least) will do this too, thanks! Maybe they can all go to a park while I take care of stuff at the new hotel. Hmm, so much to think about!

Both are great resorts. The access to Downtown Disney from SSR is a real perk.
I do have one suggestion for you. If you are staying at Kidani be sure bell services clearly marks the tags with that information. Jambo and Kidani don't share a bell service and your luggage could end up at the wrong one.
Enjoy your trip!!!
