Transferred points don't show online!

Another learning lesson about the new online booking system.

I transferred a few points to complete an online reservation a few days ago. I had to call member services to do that. Today I went online and the points were not in my account. I checked my other account that I transferred the points from and sure enough, the points were transferred out.

At 8 am I went online to book the room. I did not have the transferred points. At 9 am I called member services and the transferred points were indeed on their system.

Luckily I was able to book the room through member services. But just a heads up to everyone, if you need your transferred points to book a room, right now you will have to call member services when they open, and you will probably not be able to book online.

That's right. Transferred in points don't show up. Transferred out points show as being gone.
 
I believe you can only see transferred points if they are the same.

I did a point transfer last year (same resort and same UY) and they showed up in the activity detail and in the point summary.

I did a point transfer this year (different resort and different UY) and they did not show up. I think the reason is the software is not robust enough to handle a different UY/different resort within the same contract, so member services has to intervene in the process.
 
This is really good to know as I had no idea. I am considering doing a point transfer and I would have freaked out if I didn't see them (assuming it's a different UY or resort)

Interesting that their software can't handle that, and it seems kind of a pain for every transfer in not being able to see that information or being able to book that themselves online.
 

Thanks for the info. I always knew you couldn't see them online when you were looking at your points, however, it is interesting to know that you cannot book online if using transferred points. I need to book on Tuesday and use t/f points so will need to call MS, I guess. I'm a little disappointed as I was looking forward to trying out the online booking tool though :sad2:
 
As mentioned, unless they are the same resort and UY, they will not show online.

I got June UY BLT points (same as my own) and they were there and I could see them.

I guess that is a benefit of getting the same points as you own. Now, I already have them booked into a reservation but would be curious how those would have worked had online booking been an option when I got them.
 
If you go to your member profile online, it will tell you that transferred points won't show up online in your account
