Transfering Points ?

Hi! Wondering if someone can help answer my questions?

I am hopefully planning a stay for December 2013. I currently do not have enough points to cover my whole length of stay. Am I right in thinking I can 'buy' and transfer points into my account now (assuming I can find points for SSR) and then I'd be able to book my whole vacation at the same time in January?

Or do I only book what I have points to cover and then transfer and add on days after?

the transferred pts need to be for a UY that covers dec 2013. SSR pts from an april 2012 UY would work, since you can bank transferred pts (for example)...but dec 2011 pts would not work. but yes, you can transfer in SSR pts and use them like that.

what is your UY? i'm assuming you know you can borrow pts from 2014 if you need them?

edited to add: DVC will also sell you up to 24 "one-time-use" pts for use at the 7 month window but i'm assuming you need more than that, so you'd need to find an SSR owner willing to transfer their pts.

I have a Sept UY. I could borrow 2014 points but I'm trying to get out of that cycle and we are bringing my mom who would technically be the one 'paying' for the transferred points.

So if I can find SSR points to be transferred from any 2012 UY would that work for me?
I get all confused over the UY stuff!

you can use pts from any 2012 or 2013 UY to book a dec 2013 stay. ideally, you'd prefer pts from a june 2013 UY to a dec 2013 UY (like any other UY situation, it gives you more options if you should need to cancel) but it depends on what transfer options you find available.

I will have 150 2012 sept UY pts for transfer in about a week, if your interested , I'm prob wrong but I thought transferred pts couldn't be banked

this isn't the appropriate board for offers for sale, so you might get edited...but i'll clarify that banked pts cannot be transferred but transferred pts can be banked.

Not to be picky but I didn't say they were for sale I cannot use them this year or next so..... But thank you for clarifying the banking transferred pts part
