I thought you were not allowed compensation for doing this? Is that true?

The official documents state, "Club Members are expressly prohibited from receiving compensation for engaging in any Transfer activity."

By stating no compensation, Disney is protecting themselves from issues if something goes wrong with the transfer.

A point transfer is a final transaction. If someone transfers points to another person, and then doesn't get paid for them, he cannot go to Disney for assistance as per Disney, there was not suppose to be any exchange of money in the first place. Thus Disney does not get involved in any disputes.
