Transfering Points Rules

Can someone explain to me the transfer rules.

I want to transfer 90 points from one of my accounts to my other account. One has a use year of March (90 points), the other a use year of December.

1) What use year will the 90 points have if I make the transfer.

2) How many transfered are you allowed in a use year. - They indicated I can transfer out of the 90 points as many times as I want until my next use year. The other account can only either receive points, or make one transfer back to my other account before the next use year. They indicated at each renewal use year it resets itself. Confused, please explain.

3) After I make the transfer can I bank these points?

4) When I make a reservation from the transfer and cancel, what will happen to the use year. Will I have to use the points by March or December?

You can transfer out of an account as many times you want in any use year, or you can transfer into an account as many times you want in any use year. However, as to any one account you cannot both transfer in and transfer out during the same use year. Note that this restriction is often waived for owners who are simply transfering among their own accounts.

Points transfered retain their own use year and home resort designation. Thus, those 90 points would still be March use year points for all purposes including banking and would still retain their resort identity to determine whether the 11 month or 7 month window applies. You can bank points after they have been transfered. If you cancel a trip that March use year still applies for any banking or use purposes.

The act of transfer is often not necessary to accomplish a reservation. People with two accounts often reserve some nights with one account, the remaining nights needed with the other and then just link the ressies. In that situation, transfer is needed only for an odd night where one of the accounts does not have enough points for one of the nights.

Why would you want to transfer? The main legit reasons are to finish out a single day and for the items that require booking from one account like DCL, Adventurer Collection, etc. I would not do it trying to take advantage of the current wierd nature of the transfer system because if they fix it, you may end up losing your points entirely.
