Transfered Points Problems!

I want to pass on a word of warning.

In addition to the issue of most MS Advisers not knowing how to process transfered points, there is another issue that we need to deal with.

The MS computer system doesn't know how to process them either. We have had an on-going issue of points being incorrectly processed when we transfered points between two of our contracts. Yesterday our point count was short, today it's over. :scared1:

We have been told that this is a known issue with all transfers and currently there isn't an estimated fix date. :sad2:

Do yourself a favor, keep a really accurate accounting of your points and If MS tells you that your accounting is incorrect, do not believe them. Contact a MS Manager and report the problem.
 
I know what you mean. I think we still have four points to bank, but the website says 1 and MS says 2.
 
Nope. We transferred points in to our account from a friend. VWL points into a BCV owner's account. Used with no hassles. We did it using a conference call and also e-mailed verification to members services documenting the transaction. All in the past 2 years.

Very simple thing to do.
 

Have you used the transfered points yet?

The MS computer system deleted ours, two different transfers, on two different occasions and according to a MS Manager there was no record of the transfers and they acted like we were nuts.

Now I find out that this is a known problem with no date of resolution.

Magically the points reappeared yesterday. I wonder how many members have lost points due to a system error and they don't even know it.

You just have to get in the mindset that points are the equivalent to a currency and that you guard/manage them like you would a few $100 bills laying around the house.

Tell me more about the accounts you transferred in/out of. Are they different use year and different resorts??

We've thought about adding on and this type of transaction may be in our future.

You mention others have had this problem. Is there another thread, I'd like to read it as well.

I have been having a terrible time trying to use Kidani Village transferred points June UY in my AKV's Oct Uy Jambo house contract. IT has been working on it for 2 months, as of yesterday I still cannot get a confirmation number. I have heard every reason there is, including Home Resort. I have wondered if anyone else was having a problem, MS said it was just me!:confused3 When I excepted the transfer, MS said I was the first one to except a Kidani Village transfer and the computer was not reading it. The points do not show on my screen.

I am interested to hear if anyone else is having trouble.

Transferred points do not show up with your points. I transfer between two master contracts and the last transfer didn't show up in October when we made the reservation.
 
I just transferred points to another member, but my intent was to transfer points I had banked from last year. I was told I can't transfer points banked from the previous year. Is this true, or did the MS rep mess up? I hadn't heard this before, but this is the first time I've transferred points.

This is true, You can bank transferred points, but you cannot transfer banked or borrowed points.
 
My brother transferred points to me over the weekend.

The points show up as transferred out of his account, but they are not showing up on my account on the member site.

MS can "see" them on their computers, though, and I have the transfer confirmation number. I'm not sure how worried I should be.

The last time I had points transferred in, I could see them on the member website right away.

This has been my past experience also, But the last transfer that I excepted I cannot see. MS can see it, but I have not been able to book a reservation with the points. MS has placed a room on hold until IT can get this straight. Yesterday, after hearing every reason that there is to possibly give me, I tried to book a Kidani Village room with the Kidani village points. I still cannot get a confirmation number. The computer has a glitch or my account has a glitch. I would be interested to see if you are able to book a reservation all the way through.
 
Okay then....should I get one 100pt BLT instead of the 2-50 point contracts that I had planned on getting? I will always be in a transfer situation of some sort. Does the once a year transfer apply to transfers between the same owner?

Transfers only occur if you have at least two different UYs or you transfer to or from another member.

Currently transferring from one contract to another contract owned by the same owner is not affected buy the one transfer rule.

If you do an add-on with Disney (which you must be talking about, with BLT), they are all added on to the same contract, even if they are different resorts. (They just have to be titled the same and the same UY.) Then they are not treated as transfers when you use the points together.

I just did the 2-50 point add-ons at BLT, I think the only hassle is signing twice the paperwork!
 
Okay, I received a call from Ted at MS this morning, After my 3rd reservation not going through with the Transferred points on Monday, I finally have received some attention. He said, " I see you have been going through this since Oct, I am sorry...I need 48 hours to fix your account." "There is something wrong with the way the points were transferred into your account." MS had been storing the rooms that I needed in my account, but I was not receiving any Confirmation numbers or confirmations. They were just taking the rooms out of Inventory. I was still very unsecure about this.

I had some errands to run, when I returned home Ted was on my voice mail telling me to check the DVC member web site for my confirmation numbers!:banana: Thank you DVC!!!!:woohoo: Do I feel better now!!!! The MS rep that I did end up talking with today, I did need to add something, said," I could bore you with the details, but you really don't want to hear all that do you? I had already been on the phone for 45 minutes (including talking to MS), so I knew that people were waiting, I said, " hey, I have my rooms, you all held the ones you said you would, I'm good.
