Transfer then borrow?

One other consideration: If you are still in your 2011 UY (i.e. you don't have a January UY) you (and the other party) can transfer only 2011 and 2012 points (one transfer for each UY). Because of this rule, borrowing is seldom an issue.

I also have a question, does banking or borrowing count as your one and only transfer or are transactions within your own account not count.

Also what if you have more than one contract, does transfers between accounts count as your only transfer for that year.

Thanks!

Banking and borrowing do not count as a transfer.

If the contracts are under the same membership number, there is no limitation on transferring. The contracts are treated as though they were one big contract. Of course, you still can't mix points from different resorts until the 7 month window.

If the contracts have two different membership numbers, then yes, a transfer between them counts as the one transfer for both memberships. However, MS is reported to be very lenient if the two memberships are owned by the same person(s) (must be titled exactly the same). Often they will not enforce the one transfer rule in such cases.

Not so--at least not in my case. I was able to receive 2012 UY points while I was still in my 2010 UY.

They were the same resort and UY as what I owned so not sure if that made a difference, but MS allowed the transfer. And, because of that, I was even able to see them as part of my contract.
