So you can transfer points once per year is that calendar year or use year. I have a october ssr contract if I transfered points by September 25 use year would I be able to transfer again after October same year since I'll be in 26 use year?

It's by UY, not calendar year. You can do a 2025 UY and a 2026 UY transfer in the same calendar year.

Help me understand when I can next transfer points. Here's what I did:

1. Borrowed December 2026 UY points into the December 2025 UY.
2. Transferred some native December 2025 UY points AND some borrowed December 2025 UY points to my June 2026 UY contract for a stay in June 2026.

You get one transfer in or out per use year. So by my reckoning, I will be eligible to transfer again (in or out) on my June contract starting June 1, 2027. And I will be able to transfer again (in or out) on my December contract starting December 1, 2026. Do I have that right?

Or does the fact that I transferred borrowed points mean that I've also used up the December 2026 UY transfer? That doesn't feel right to me because it would mean one transfer counted twice.

My understanding is that if the points were already borrowed when you transferred them, that is the UY it attaches to.

Borrowed Dec 2025 points would put them into the Dec 2024 UY so I’m confused of how those can be used for a June 2026 trip?

But the Dec 2025 UY points that went to your June membership, should count as your June 2025 UY transfer, even though the date you are using them is in June 2026.

That is because transfers retain all their own rules.

So, it looks to me that you can do a transfer in/out 2026 points in/out of both your June and Dec 2026 UY.

My mistake - I borrowed the December 2026 points and used them for the June 2026 booking.

That is very helpful information to know! Thanks so much!

That makes it different. Did you transfer and then borrow? Or borrow and then transfer?

If you transferred first, then you have already used up your 2026 points transfer for both.

But if you borrowed and then moved, then it should count as your 2025 UY transfer for both.

Ah excellent. I borrowed first. Then transferred.

I think Sandisw cleared it up for you but it's the calendar date logic that you have to drop -- it took me a bit to move past that as well.

Think of it as whatever UY the points that are being transferred are at the time of transfer, regardless of what UY the sending or receiving memberships are currently in, that's where it counts, and it doesn't matter what month the contract UYs are.

I am currently in my 2025 UY (December contract), but just transferred in 2027 UY points (from someone who is currently in their 2026 UY). That means that even 2.5 years from now in Fall 2028 when I'm in my 2027 UY, I will still not be able to transfer in any additional 2027 points or transfer out any of my 2027 allotment. Similarly, the person who transferred me points would not be able to transfer in or out any 2027 UY points, even next year.

Ah. Does this mean you could transfer points into a contract from 3 different UYs all at the same time?

Theoretically yes. Though banking/borrowing before a transfer would always be better if you're getting multiple UYs of points from one person.

But hypothetically speaking, this is how that could work:
  • Let's say I wanted to travel on a 500 point reservation this December 2026
  • If right now I was sitting right now on 4/29 and was in my April 2026 UY with 100 points from 2026 on my contract and 100 points in my 2027 UY, so I could borrow 2027 points, and have a total of 200 of my own points, needing 300 more
  • Ideally, I'd find someone to transfer me 300 points, but I could (all today)...
    • Transfer in 100 points from Owner A's October 2025 Use Year and then bank them
    • Transfer in 100 points from Owner B's April 2026 UY
    • Transfer in 100 points from Owner C's February 2027 UY and then borrow them
If I did this I will have used my 1 transfer for 2025, 2026, and 2027.

It would be better, if possible and they're willing, to have Owner B borrow their 2027 UY points into their 2026 UY and then transfer you all 200 points, so you save your 2027 transfer.
