Transfer Point Process?

I will be booking a 2 BR at BCV for mid - late Aug '07( I can't do this until the 7 month mark since our home resort is BWV) and will need to xfer points from another DVC member in order to have enough points for our stay. This will be the first time I will have done a xfer so am I right in thinking the process I need to go through is:

1- get money from our friends who will be paying for the additional points needed in order to stay with us
2- post/look on the Rent/Trade board(when should I start looking?)
3- have the other DVC member xfer points into my account
4- make reservation
