Transfer paper

I just printed out the stick family on transfer paper for color shirts. My question will be if the face of the stick person will be white or the color of the shirt??!!!???! I know it's late but I don't want to continue if it's going to be the color of the shirt!RED!

From my understanding if you have printed onto Dark Transfer Paper then it will be white but if you use Light transfer then it will make the transfer clear which will make any white area of the design the colour of the t-shirt.
