which do you prefer? I was thinking of a rental car but the prices are sky high. Pros and cons of each please.

I prefer the DCL transfer. I don't have to drive, dealing with traffic, and road/construction/whatever issues. Also don't have to travel on rental car shuttle back to port after turning in car.

Pre-covid we would take the bus from MCO - so easy. During covid I'm wary of the bus because there is no social distancing and I don't want to end up with covid on the ship (our motto is "we don't want to go to Deck 2"). We have used Tiffany Car Service recently and were very happy.

Rental car takes the most time (we get cheap rentals through former employer). The DCL transfer can be paid with your FCC/OBC, so if you have a lot of that might be worthwhile. We took Goport in December. Fairly full bus and Disney pickup at pier is last - took about 1/2 hour for bus to get from Royal pier to Disney pier.

On our last trip (Late November), we arrived the day before and rented a car at MCO. We returned it at the port before boarding. That gave us the freedom to hit Steakhouse 71 for dinner, Beaches & Cream for dessert, and then drove on to Port Canaveral for our hotel. We returned the car at the Port the next morning and used the rental car shuttle to the ship. It didn’t cost too much more that we had anticipated a car service would have cost us, and we were on our own schedule.

We even had some extra time in the morning, so we were able to drive over to the nearby (woefully mis-named) ‘Manatee Sanctuary Park’ to see if we could spot anything.

The freedom we had was well worth the cost. While they’re still doing testing at the port, this is going to be our preferred transportation.

We used GoPort to get back to MCO when the cruise was over.

We are only doing a 4 night but we plan to rent a car at MCO and pay to park it at the port. The flexibility it provides in the case we test positive is more important to us than anything for this trip.
