Hello,

My parents are transferring the ownership of their DVC interest to my sisters and me. In order to complete the transfer, we must obtain a new deed. According to the letter my parents received from DVC, it is recommended that we use an attorney licensed in Florida. We live in Michigan and don't know any Florida attorneys. Here are my questions:
1. Is it a good idea to use the Florida Bar Assocation referral service to find an attorney?
2. What county is Old Key West located? We must record the new deed in that county.

I appreciate your help with these questions. I have always received excellent advise on the DIS Boards!

I don't know the answer to your attorney question, but OKW is in Orange County.

If you want to spend $400-500 to do so, that's up to you. It's simply not necessary and is pretty simple to even do it ALL yourself for just the recording fees. You will not be able to split up the contracts unless there are separate contracts, add ons. But you can have multiple people on one deed. Remember that everyone on the deed will put all the group at risk financially so if you have someone who's not doing well financially, you may want to not add them to the deed but only as an associate. That's also a possibility with the current contract to just add those in question as associates though they wouldn't get some of the perks.
