Transfer from DL to Hollywood

Hi,

I know that there would be a thread about this... but I do have a specific transfer question.

DH & I will be in Anaheim later July / early August. We have got tickets to see Aerosmith at the Hollywood Bowl on the 6th August.

So, how do we get there and back? I have found the Greyline bus to get us in there (a lot cheaper than transfers), but how do we get back to DL late at night? I think private transfers would be the best option, but I am not sure.

I'm putting up a blog this week on taking the Metrolink and Amtrak between Anaheim and Hollywood and Highland (4 block walk from the Bowl) and Univeral Studios Hollywood, but it might not help for going to something at the Bowl.

I think the Greyline or private transfers are your best bet. We live just over the hill from the Bowl - less than 4 miles - and we take the park and ride bus for concerts there. Parking at the Bowl is a nightmare and buses are just right there waiting for you. I'm not sure where they put cabs or towncars for pickup.

It's probably not worth the hassle and cost to make your way back to Anaheim late at night. I would suggest finding a reasonably priced hotel in Hollywood and returning the next day.

LA Metro Bus 460 picks up under the monorail on Harbor blvd. 1.5 hours to Los Angeles, depart Figueroa/7th, then a 20 minute Metro Red Line ride to Hollywood/Highland. 15 minute walk to the bowl from there. You should give yourself 3 hours travel time.

460 Runs from 4am to 12:00am daily, on the half hour during the day, hourly at night. I think the last one out of Los Angeles is at 10:30PM. As suggested, if you are going to a night show at the bowl, you should plan on staying in the Los Angeles area for the night.
