Transfer, banking question

I am a new owner at BWV and am trying to figure out the answer to my question by researching all of the "transfer & banking" threads. I am confusing myself further. If I want to buy points from someone to transfer into my account for a trip next October, what UY(s) am I looking for??

I think I read that future (borrowed) points can't be transferred correct? I know I can bank transferred points but does that even apply in this situation?

Only current year points can be transferred, not borrowed or banked. Once you receive the transfer, you can bank them.

You are looking for points to use in October 2010? Or 2011?

Fro an Oct 2011 trip, you simply want points that are valid during that time frame.

So, any 2010 UY points would work. All, but Dec, would need to be banked into their 2011 UY for them to be valid.

You could also find someone to transfer you 2011 points. Again, any UY, except Dec would work. Those would not have to be banked.

Remember, buying or paying money to transfer points is against the rules for members. Disney can do it, but members can't.
