Transfer & Banking of 2008 Pts

I just wanted to confirm that if I did not have a transfer in or out in my 2008 use year that I could still transfer in points (as long as the banking timeframe) had not expired and then bank those points in (within the timeframe.)

For example, if I transferred in from a June use year of 2008, then I would have until Jan 31 of 2009 to bank those points into the 2009 use year and then have until May 31, 2010 to actually use them. Isn't this correct?

If I transferred in from a 2008 use year later then June, say October, then I would have until Sept 30 2010 to use them if banked.

Can someone confirm? I own at 4 resorts, all June use year.

I am pretty sure you can not bank/borrow any points that have been banked/borrowed or transferred. So if you transfer points from contract A to contract b, you can not bank those points.

Yes, points transferred into your account may be banked. They are supposed to retain their original Home Resort status and original Use Year.

Banked and Borrowed points cannot be transferred, but transferred points may be banked. This was not always the case, but is the present policy followed by MS.

Ah, that is why I was denied. I was trying to transfer banked points. Sorry for the misinformation.

Thanks for the reply, Doc. Do you have any answers as to timeframe questions of use year and banking?

Transferred points can be banked at least up to the usual banking deadline for the UY and it has been reported that MS will bank them after that date as well.

I recently banked Apr 08 UY transferred in points and used them to book a May 09 reservation. There was a little glitch in the process that required intervention by the folks in computer services, but within a few days I was contacted and told that my reservation was completed.
