Transcriptionist

I have a friend who went through the CareerStep program and now works for the company that I'm with. I have done transcription for 18 years. It is worth looking into. I don't know that I would recommend it to my kids, not sure what the future holds, but its been the perfect career for me to be home with my kids. I work part-time and over my career have typically made somewhere between $20-40 an hour. Its very dependent on the type of reports you are doing, how much you have to look up, how easy the doctor is to understand, and whether or not they are using a "normal" which basically means they say the same thing over and over and only change the pertinent areas.

Its definitely not a brainless "stuff envelopes for money" kind of job. It takes real training. I personally was trained by a little old lady with a big red pen.
