Trans-Siberian Orchestra

I went for the first time last year and we are going again Dec.1. They are awesome. I love when they play Cleveland Rocks.

She is soo lucky! I never met them in person but would love to. Does anyone know if there are two touring groups of TSO? My reason for asking is because if you go on their website, it says there will be a 3:00 show in Texas on Dec.16 the same time Philadelphia is having theirs? Can't decide if this was a mistake or not.

Usually a west and east coast group.

I wanted to second that there is a west coast and east coast tour each year.

We went last year in St. Louis for the first time. WHAT AN EVENT!!!! They are WONDERFUL!! We'll be there again this year on 12/27!

Papa Duece, there is a CD of non Christmas music, my BIL bought it last year at their concert. I cannot remember the name.

We are going Dec 26th this year when they come to Hartford. It is our 3rd year and we can't wait. I love seeing so many age groups enjoying their awesome music.

My DW got me hooked on them when we first started dating, and we’ll be seeing them again Nov 18. I think it’ll be our 5th year in a row. I love the rock and roll elements, and my wife likes the story. So it works out well for both of us.

As others have stated, there are two touring groups. I believe both groups have a couple of the original members. The group that we get every year (which I believe is the West group) has Al Pitrelli and Tommy Farese, who I believe were both on the Christmas Eve and Other Stories album. And the narrator, Tony Gaynor, is outstanding.

Beethoven's Last Night was their first non-Christmas album. And they are working on a new one, but they’ve been working on it for a couple years now. The last I heard was early ’07, but again they’ve been working on it for a couple years; so it is anybody's guess when it'll actually be released.

Oh! Thanks for telling me that. I had no idea. Did any of you ever get front row seats? IF so, what were they like? I am in section 106. So pretty close to the floor but not to the stage. Just wanted to know if the music was like extra loud near the front or if the lights hurt your eyes. lol.

My wife somehow gets a presale code every year, so we haven't been any farther back than I think the 8th row; and we've been as close as the 2nd row. So I can't really compare how it would be farther back, but I think they always keep the volume at a respectable level. My ears never ring after their concerts, when in comparison I saw Metallica a couple years ago and I was almost deaf after the concert. And I was a lot farther back than I am for TSO. I think they make it loud enough to make it feel like a Rock and Roll concert, yet keep it quiet enough as to not drive out the folks who aren't used to loud concerts like that. And as for the lights, they do have an amazing light show. But I don't think it is any more blinding up close than it would be in the front row. The big difference is when they use their fire special effect during the encore, you can really feel the heat when you are close to the stage.

We had fourth row last year and it was great. The music was not too loud for us at all. It seems like their concerts start out sort of quiet and gradually get louder as the show goes on. When they start I always tell dh "why are they so quiet this year". Then at the end, they are nice and loud.

lol ok. so front seats:good. next time they come around and save up enough money maybe i'll try the front seats.

Whatever happened to the CD of NON Christmas music they talked about 2 years ago while on tour?

i know i was thinking about that too. they were talking about "O Fortuna" and a few other opera songs they were gonna do.

I've never seen them, but they're in Memphis tomorrow night and one of my girlfriends has an extra ticket. I just might go. The pictures are not what I expected AT ALL! I've just heard the music on the radio, but never seen any pics!

Maybe we should have a mini DIS meet for supper or drinks before or after the Milwaukee Dec. 28 show! I'm going with my family to celebrate my birthday the day before (the big 40, gulp).
Yeah, TSO!

I ordered my tickets online and just got them! Yay! :Pinkbounc Now i am really excited. My bestfriend and I are going together. OH by the way, I'm going to the on in Philly.

Nope, but my old friend Bryan is their lighting director. One of these days I'll get hold of him and go to one of their shows.

Last nights concert in Cleveland was AWESOME as usual. I am just amazed by them. We also had a special guest at our show to perform with them at the end. Ian Hunter? My parents and other people were excited but DH and I had no clue who he was. When they sang Cleveland Rock to close the show it was great. Everyone was on thier feet. Can't wait for next year.

Saw them here this past Wed night and they were WONDERFUL!!!!
Cannot remember such an awesome Concert in a very long time!!!

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I AM GOING TO SEE THEM TODAY!!!!!!!!

arco arena in sacramento-can't wait, see them in 7 hours!!!!!! will report back later :teeth:

I saw them last week at Mohegan Sun, I had comp tickets. I thought it was okay, I actually enjoy their "harder" sound and it didn't seem like there was much of that during this show. I'm glad I got to go, but I don't think I'd go again.

We are going the 26th to see them in Hartford My DH is bummed because he likes to kick our Holiday Spirit off by seeing their show. I celebrate the season way past Christmas Day so I am happy.
