trans. from MCO to Tampa.

Hey all!
I am trying to piece together a quick trip to Florida with my son to go visit Busch Gardens. The flights into Orlando are MUCH cheaper than the ones into Tampa so I was thinking of renting a car at the airport and driving to Tampa and maybe the Gulf coast. Does anyone have any experience with the rental companies? I have found some REALLY cheap ones (Payless, EZ Rental, Styx for a few examples) however the reviews are a mixed bag. Hertz, Enterprise, Alamo and Budget are more familiar to me but also a bit more spendy. (Or at least what I have found so far)

Can ya help a girl out?

Are there any other transportation options I should consider?

Thanks!:thumbsup2

We've done it the other way -- flying into Tampa to take advantage of a lower fare. Better to do it the way you are though because I find the rental car rates so much better if you're starting in Orlando. We always rent from Alamo -- you can get a good rate if you check and re-check the rates, and add codes to your reservation (which you can do at a later date).

Yes we have done the exact same thing but rent with Alamo. As your trip gets closer the prices for major rental car co will drop. A few weeks ago my Alamo mid -size for a week was nearly $400 now I am getting it for $92.00
So keep looking on here for discount codes and you should get a good price.

GO to Orlando Magic Card they have a corporate rate discount and all you need to is print card just to have it, but in 3 times of using the rate I have never never been asked for it. It is open to all, so don't be worried that maybe you shouldn't use it. It gives you an additional driver at no increase in price and also unlimited miles...Good luck!

And I agree with the others on here, everyday or so or even twice a day look up because they are always changing prices. Last year I even got the best deal 2 DAYS before my trip...Just readjust your old reservations...

Good luck!!!!
