After counting down from day 400+, we are finally ready to start making some final reservations. I need some help from you experienced DIS members. We will be using ME to get to Beach Club from airport. We plan on leaving resort Friday evening and moving to Port Canaveral for early boarding on Saturday. What is the easiest option that won't break the budget? Will also need transportation from port to airport at end of cruise. Simply put, looking for easy, economical ride from resort to Port Canaveral to MAO. Please help, don't know where to start. Thanks in advance.....................Heather

Also just started looking for lodging Friday evening. Open to suggestions there as well.

I've used Sunray Transportation. From Attractions Areas to Port Canaveral to MCO is $220 + gratuity. No hidden fees. I've been very pleased with their service and use them whenever I'm in Orlando.

Hotel, I'd suggest the Radisson by the port. They have a free shuttle to the DCL terminal. Make sure you sign up for it when you check in. I've been on two Disney cruises and was there just about when the terminal opened. It was great being close to the front of the line.

Have a great trip!

Much cheaper than that would be a rental car. Budget, Avis, Hertz and Enterprise have locations in/near Port Canaveral. Just as an example, Avis would cost $64.16 one 24 hour period from Disney to Port Canaveral, and $55.62 from Port Canaveral to MCO. You'd rent the car (in this case) at the Hilton across from Downtown Disney, drive to the port, keep the car overnight, have the driver drop everyone else and all the luggage off at the dock and return the car, then shuttle back to meet you. On the return, one person can take the shuttle back to Avis, rent another car, pick you all up and head off to the airport.
Prices above include all taxes/fees, exclude gas, and were calculated without any discounts such as the ones available at Mousesavers. Also, the other agencies may have better prices.

Thank you so much for the quick replies. This is exactly the kind of information I am looking for. I am not experienced traveler. We have taken the same route and stayed at the same place in Myrtle Beach for 8 years. I will start weighing the pros and cons to the replies and try to sort it out. One disadvantage to renting is that neither my husband nor I are familiar with Orlando driving. Is the route to the port and then to airport easy to navigate? If we go with a town car, it may be obvious but how does the tipping work? I assume I would tip at each leg of the transfer. What is standard? I see 20% but is that 20% of the total cost or how do you figure when you pay once and have 3 different drivers? Can anybody follow this mess in my head?
Thanks again, appreciate your time and suggestions..............Heather
